Our Mission
Bike Walk Glastonbury is a volunteer organization of people living or working in Glastonbury whose mission is to advocate for a comprehensive plan to
provide safe and scenic walking and cycling experiences for the community. The goals of the organization are:
1. Create multi-use, off-road trails for walkers, joggers, bikers, rollerbladers and the physically challenged
2. Enhance existing roads for a safe and more enjoyable walking and cycling experience
3. Promote walking and cycling as good options for both neighborhood and
community transportation
Glastonbury Bicycle Master Plan
At the invitation of the Town of Glastonbury, the organization crafted a Master Plan that:
– Creates a system of multi-use (walking, jogging, biking, rollerblading, handicapped accessible), off-road trails within Glastonbury that link to town roads, regional bikeways, and trails of surrounding towns.
– Enhances existing roadways with better signage, infrastructure, and road improvements for a safer, more enjoyable walking and cycling experience.
– Provides guidance to the Town of Glastonbury for planning a pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly community.
– Collaborates with other communities, organizations, and state agencies to promote the benefits of walking and bicycling.
Bike Walk Glastonbury executes the Master Plan by collaborating with the Town of Glastonbury and raising funds through:
– Membership contributions
– Fundraising events
– Corporate donations
– Foundation grants
– Public funding
We are a volunteer organization working to provide safe and scenic walking and cycling experiences for the community.
